The Equipment

People tend to express an interest in the gear we use at Demon TV, so here's a little comprehensive list of what we have available (you can click on any images to see them in a bigger size):

Cameras

During the 2006/2007 period, the station purchased 3 high definition cameras, giving us the opportunity to be the first student television station to shoot in the HDV format (1080i).

1 x Sony HVR-V1E

The biggest (and best) camera we have, it's got full manual control and is really useful for low-light shoots - we tend to do quite a few of these..

2 x Sony HVR-A1E

Smaller brethren of the bigger Sony camera we have, but they're still pretty damn good. They're more compact and lightweight, making them ideal for shoots in venues and on location where the camerawork has to be more spontaneous. They have infra-red lights too, enabling us to capture footage in dark clubs and other venues.

Mac Pro

Our Media Office computer. This thing is a bit of a beast - it's got two Intel Xeons running at 3GHz with 4 cores each, 5GB of RAM and two Cinema HD displays. It's got quite a bit of storage space as well, and we use it to finalise and archive our programmes.
