We're Making Progress...
Posted by jim on 10/11/09
Well hello again, Jim checking in just to keep you updated as to what's going down with the Demons! Meetings so far have been very successful, with good turnouts for each section, and soon we should have a fair amount of new and original programming for you all to watch - the first two episodes of Jim's Guitar Riff have been filmed and are currently being edited, an interview with Dave Benson Phillips (of Get Your Own Back fame) will be available soon, plus there is now an ongoing documentary that plans to investigate the housing crisis new students have faced this year. Look out for a quiz show as well (Know Your Enemy) plus a profanity-filled sketch show.
Until the next time..
Hello Freshers!
Posted by jim on 3/10/09
Hello again, just dropping a bit of news regarding Demon Media for all the freshers and recurring members who would like to renew their membership. This year we're pushing to use media membership sign-ups through the DSU website demontfortstudents.com. Memberships cost a one-off fee of twenty pounds for the year and cover all three media brands (FM, Newspaper and TV). In order to pay you must first create an account and verify it through e-mail, then go to the My Memberships section and add a new Demon Media membership.
Furthermore, I'd like to inform people about the separate Demon TV sign-up system we have in place on this site - if you go to the Join Us page, you'll find a form that you can fill in. The contact details are pretty self-explanatory, but of interest are the check boxes for the groups within Demon TV. If you leave all of them checked (Pre Production, Production, Post Production and Marketing) you will be added to every mailing list and will receive every e-mail from those departments. If you only fancy doing Production, uncheck the other options and you will only receive global and Production-related e-mails. If you change your mind, simply resubscribe with your new choices.
See you around!
NaSTA 09 is over!
Posted by jim on 31/03/09
Well, we came, we saw, we didn't quite conquer... in fact, we didn't win any of the awards at NaSTA, but it was great just being there and we met a lot of like-minded people. Massive, massive thanks to SUSU (Southampton) for organising the awards, just thinking about the amount of work they put in is making my head spin! Also a big shout out to Sunderland Uni who were awesome, and congrats to them for winning one award and getting a highly commended as well. Cheers guys!
Well, it's back to the usual grind of Uni work for us all - many many coursework deadlines and other diversions to keep us occupied. Look out for some new programming soon though, it'll be sexual... Cheers!
iTunes baby, yeah! Oh, also NaSTa.
